RIDGEWAY — Word Alive Worship Center is partnering with several of the state’s largest healthcare providers to host a Community Health & Wellness Fair on Saturday, Aug. 22.
The free event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the worship center, located at 2263 Hwy. 21 in Ridgeway.
The fair is designed to provide a “one-stop shop” for family health and community resources. In partnership with Prisma Health, Lexington Health Hospital System, and BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, the event will offer professional health screenings and wellness information to the public at no cost.
Beyond medical services, the fair includes a wide array of community support resources. Attendees can access veterans’ services, register to vote, and meet with representatives from emergency management services.
With the school year approaching, organizers are also providing school supplies to families while supplies last. The event is designed to be family-friendly, featuring dedicated activities for children.
“Whether you’re looking to learn more about your health, connect with local organizations, or prepare your family for the school year, there is something for everyone,” the worship center said in a statement.
Organizers said the mission of the fair is to build a stronger, healthier community by addressing needs of the “body, mind, and spirit.”
The event is open to all residents of Ridgeway and the surrounding Fairfield County area. No prior registration is required to attend.
