As we journey deeper into the election season, it becomes increasingly clear that a true civic leader is a Godly visionary who prioritizes the well-being of their community (which may be a town, city, county, region, state, nation, world) by promoting community growth, fairness, and resilience over their own benefits and achievements.
Fortunately, exceptional servant leaders can be easily identified by their track record of community service, marked by their service on civic boards and commissions, purposeful non-profits, and youth and senior organizations. Furthermore, these leaders fearlessly engage in pertinent public discussion, empower other citizens, and address local challenges aggressively, all while prioritizing the greater good over personal interests.
Tell us not what you’ve accomplished for yourself, but what you’ve achieved and will achieve for the community.
In other words, servant leaders selflessly prioritize community needs, and enhance marginalized voices. By working collectively and listening attentively, they address real issues, safeguard public resources, and build a brighter future for generations to come.
In summary, true servant leaders emphasize the community over self, while seeking genuine solutions rather than what fits a self-benefit and/or a strident ideology.
You decide.
